Attractions & Links
The village itself is famous for its 12th Century Priory - Friday night is bell practice - with its amazing stained glass windows and ancient choir stalls. Cartmel also has a wide range of interesting shops including a cheesemaker and a baker, 4 traditional pubs each serving high quality food, a wine bar, a Michelin starred Restaurant and is the home of Sticky Toffee Pudding.
Racegoers fill the village seven times a year, when Cartmel hosts its famous and highly popular steeple chase meetings, attracting visitors from across the country.
Two miles away is the Edwardian resort of Grange-Over-Sands, easily accessible with excellent road and rail links, offers more shopping, and a wealth of additional activities.
A toddlers’ playground is sited just outside our caravan park’s gate.
